Professor Bealer was well-known for his contributions to metaphysics and cognate areas. He taught at Reed College, the University of Colorado at Boulder, the University of Texas at Austin, and, from 2005 until his retirement, at Yale University. The Yale statement in honor of his retirement in 2014 gives a nice sense of his distinctive contributions to philosophy.
