Professor Bennett died on March 31. He was emeritus at Syracuse University, where he taught for two decades, and also held positions at Cambridge University and the University of British Columbia, among other places. He was internationally known for his work in metaphysics, philosophy of language, ethics, and the philosophy of Kant and of various early modern figures.
