Professor Parsons, who was emeritus at Harvard, died yesterday evening. He taught for many years at Columbia University, before returning to Harvard (where he had taken his Ph.D.) in 1989, and where he spent the remainder of his career. He was well-known for his work on Kant and in the philosophy of mathematics. Comments are open for remembrances from those who knew Professor Parsons or for those who wish to comment on the significance of his work.
(I never met Professor Parsons, but I did enjoy corresponding with him occasionally, as he was a reader of the blog, and would occasionally share news or perspective.)
UPDATE: Philosopher Gila Sher (UC San Diego) kindly shares this lovely remembrance of Professor Parsons: Download Charles Parsons - Appreciation by Gila Sher
