The Times of Israel reports that Hamas, through Qatar, has offered to exchange the women, children, and elderly hostages for an equivalent number of female and teenage Palestinian prisoners held by Israel; Israel, the report says, rejected that offer, which I find incomprehensible, but perhaps the reporting is not wholly accurate.
