Philosopher Jason Konek (Bristol) writes:
As I'm sure you know, the University and College Union (which represents a large number of academic staff at UK universities) has engaged in a number of industrial actions over pension cuts since 2018. Some members of UCU (Dr Neil Davies, Dr Ewan McGaughey) have managed to secure a hearing in the Court of Appeal to give pension beneficiaries a derivative claim. If successful, this would allow us to sue the trustee directors and managers for mismanagement of the scheme. It is important that UCU members prevail in this. But that requires funding to cover legal costs. There is a crowdfunding campaign to cover these costs. We're getting rather close to the deadline and still about 128k short. I thought you might be willing to advertise this and perhaps help push it over the line. Details here: https://www.crowdjustice.com/case/save-pensions-and-planet/.
