Jennifer Frey (ethics) and Christopher Frey (ancient philosophy), both Associate Professors of Philosophy at the University of South Carolina, have accepted appointments at the University of Tulsa: she as Dean of the New Honors College and Professor of Philosophy, and he as holder of a Chair in the philosophy department. Senior, lateral appointments are certainly a good sign that Tulsa's new President is, indeed, serious about philosophy and the humanities.
(Thanks to Professor J. Frey for the information.)
ADDENDUM: Via Joel Pust on Twitter, I saw this excellent statement about philosophy's role in the university from President Carson at Tulsa.
