A longtime member of the Department of Philosophy at Princeton University, where he was emeritus, Professor Cooper was one of the leading scholars of ancient Greek philosophy of his generation. Prior to joining Princeton in 1981, he taught at the University of Pittsburgh and Harvard University. I will add links to memorial notices when they appear.
