University of Illinois requiring "diversity" statements for tenure and promotion

Biologist Jerry Coyne (Chicago) has details.  Some University of California campuses have similar requirements.  As with the "diversity" statements required for appointment, they are almost certainly unconstitutional.  If you teach at a state school, and have been denied tenure or promotion for failing to express the required views, I can put you in touch with a public interest attorney who is looking to mount a constitutional challenge to these illegal programs.
