For example, here is philosopher Helen De Cruz on Twitter, making a principled objection based on racial and gender bias to my noting last year that Saint Louis University's loss of John Greco to Georgetown "may" lead to the department dropping out of the top 50, notwithstanding having hired De Cruz:
Clearly the only possible explanation for my prediction was that Greco is a white man, and De Cruz is not. The fact that Greco is much more senior than De Cruz, and that his work has had much more impact than that by De Cruz (in part, at least, because he's much more senior) had nothing, of course, to do with the prediction--which, as it happened, came true. Go figure!
