Professor Françoise Lavocat (Paris III), a distinguished literay scholar (more about her here), is undertaking a cross-cultural study of what people remember about characters they encounter in fiction (whether books or comics or games or films etc.).  You can participate in her survey here.  It should take 10 or 15 minutes.
