Justin Weinberg (South Carolina) reports the results here, noting, correctly, that the database "misses quite a bit of philosophy." The list also misses those who are characterized as "law" or "social science," even when their work is all in philosophy. Thus, e.g., in the "career" citations, Jeremy Waldron (NYU) would come come in just ahead of Allen Buchanan (who is 6th); Seana Shiffrin (UCLA) is just ahead of Joseph Carens (who is 154th), and I am just ahead of Michael Smith (who is 181st). Of course, when Quine is only 177th, and Putnam 100th, there's clearly something screwy going on!
ADDENDUM: SCOPUS's coverage of the humanities and social sciences is apparently quite poor.
