Elizabeth Schechter (philosophy of mind and psychology), Associate Professor of Philosophy and Cognitive Science at Indiana University, Bloomington, has accepted a tenured appointment as Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she will begin inf all 2022. This is the third tenured appointment at Maryland over the last two years (Cariani from Northwestern, Santorio from UC San Diego), that should propel the department back to the cusp of the top 30 at least, and will insure it continues to be a strong choice in areas like philosophy of mind, language, and cognitive science.
