Khalidi from York U/Toronto to CUNY Graduate Center

Muhammad Ali Khalidi (philosophy of science and cognitive science, medieval Islamic philosophy), Professor of Philosophy at York University, Toronto, has accepted appointment as Presidential Professor of Philosophy at the City University of New York Graduate Center, effective July 1.    Those of you who have not read his Natural Categories and Human Kinds:  Classification in the Natural and Social Sciences (Cambridge, 2013) should:  it's an important book, one that will be recognized as such quite generally once the current metaphysical fad that has dominated discussion of "natural kinds" for more than a half-century passes, as it should!
