The "lockdown" begins at 5 pm today. To put this in a bit of context, Cook County, where Chicago is and with 5.2 million people, has 548 confirmed cases as of today (the caseload did not quite double in the last two days); New York City, with 8.5 million people, has about 7500 confirmed cases today. New York's "lockdown" started just the other day. New York hospitals are already in crisis, as each day's New York Times reveals. By starting earlier in Illinois, Governor Pritzker will undoubtedly save lives and alleviate a lot of suffering. If your locality hasn't acted, send this speech to your local officials.
