Stephen Finlay (metaethics), Professor of Philosophy at the University of Southern California, has accepted a senior offer from the Australian Catholic University in Melbourne, where he will direct the new Institute for Philosophy, a research-only institute, which will be doing a good bit of hiring in the coming years. Finlay will continue to be in residence about two months each year at USC from 2020 onwards, and teaching a graduate seminar during that time.
ADDENDUM: I should note that the ACU already has some quite productive, younger philosophers making a name for themselves in metathics (e.g., David Killoren, Richard Rowland), so choosing a distinguished senior figure in the field like Finlay to lead the Institue is, indeed, a wise case of playing to strength.
