A scholar of Greek philosophy, she taught for many decades at the University of Liverpool. Her son, Bart Huby, writes: "She published papers and books over a more than 60 year period from 1957 to 2018, still working into her early nineties. In particular in recent years she collaborated with Professor Sir Richard Sorabji of Oxford University on translations of commentators of Aristotle, and with Professor Dimitri Gutas of Yale University and Professor William Fortenbaugh of Rutgers University, and the late Professor Bob Sharples of UCL London on a major project over several decades recording the works and commentaries of Theophrastus of Eresos, a Greek philosopher of the Peripatetic school, and immediate successor of Aristotle in leadership of the Lyceum in Athens."
