Philosopher Tim Crane (CEU) writes:
Today the CEU announced at a press conference that, since the Hungarian government has still not signed the agreement that its own officials negotiated with the State of New York in 2017, the University will now be definitely transferring many of its activities to Vienna, starting from the academic year 2019-20. The details of this dismal state of affairs are here: https://www.ceu.edu/article/2018-12-03/ceu-forced-out-budapest-launch-us-degree-programs-vienna-september-2019.
Contrary to what has been suggested in some media outlets, the CEU is not closing. And we will be actively recruiting new MA and PhD students in philosophy to start with us in Vienna in 2019. The deadline is 31 January 2019. More details can be found here: https://www.ceu.edu/article/2018-10-05/ceu-applications-now-open-2019-2020. I’m very happy to answer questions from prospective applicants. My email can be found at https://philosophy.ceu.edu/people/tim-crane-0
