UPDATE: A philosopher in Canada points out that Prof. Hirose was elected not as a Fellow of the RSC, but as a Member of the College of New Scholars. This membership is for seven years. Here’s the official statement: "The Members of the College are Canadians and Permanent Residents who, at an early stage in their career, have demonstrated a high level of achievement. The criteria for election is excellence, and membership is for seven years."
