MOVING TO FRONT AGAIN--REVISED AGAIN
The following universities have the most PhD graduates in "top 20" philosophy programs for 2017-18 ("top 20" is construed loosely to include some on the cusp given the last PGR). For some schools PhD graduates of cognate programs (like HPS at Pittsburgh, and Logic & the Methodology of Science) are also counted, given their close ties to philosophy. The number of graduates of each school currently in untenured tenure-track positions appears in parentheses after the name of the PhD-granting university.
1. Princeton University (8)
2. New York University (7)
2. Rutgers University, New Brunswick (7)
4. University of California, Berkeley (6)
5. Massachussetts Institute of Technology (5)
6. Columbia University (4)
6. Harvard University (4)
6. Oxford University (4)
6. Yale University (4)
10. Cambridge University (3)
11. University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (2)
11. University of Pittsburgh (2, both HPS)
