In light of my latest heresy, here's a few of my favorite Soundgarden songs. My own idiosyncratic view--call it the "Kantian view" about rock--is that 1967-1973 was the highl point, with a few stragglers into 1975, and it's been downhill since, though Soundgarden did catch my attention in the 1990s (Smashing Pumpkins isn't bad either, but not as good as Soundgarden). In any case, with my hair shirt on, here are my favorites; next week we return to the usual utterly obscure fare.
