In my department we are having this debate right now -- do we continue to use the JFP alone (no), do we advertise in JFP parallel to emerging venues (probably), or do we advertise in the emerging venues only (possibly)?
Option 2 is the safest, but also has the potential to perpetuate a system that is in terrible need of reform (or better, total replacement).
It would be very useful to see a general discussion of this point, right now, as now is the time that departments are facing this issue.
