Jim Rogers (former Chancellor of the Nevada System of Higher Education) has identified Nevada legislators who might be sympathetic to standing up to Gov. Sandoval's draconian budget proposal and supporting education at http://www.tweetdeck.com/twitter/JimRogersNevada/~qItWp

Probably the most important thing is just to write these people something. It is doubtful that the content of your letter will be treated with seriousness, but it is still important that they get a letter that they can add to the "no cuts" tally of letters. So your time is better spent writing more legislators rather than crafting a great letter that will only be skimmed, at best. Also keep in mind that most of these are northern or rural representatives.

We want to see the education allies list grow to 60, and the education enemies list not grow at all.

Here are seven legislators who have a chance to stand for the State’s future rather than their political future. These legislators need your encouragement.

Call them. Email them. See whether they have the backbone to stand for what is right rather than what is expedient.

They know what the right thing to do is.
