MOVING TO FRONT FROM FEBRUARY 8: SEE VARIOUS UPDATES
Fr. McMullin, a well-known historian and philosopher of science, was emeritus at the University of Notre Dame, where he had taught since 1954 and where he held the O'Hara Chair at the time of his retirement. I will post links to memorial notices as they appear.
UPDATE: A remembrance from Michael Ruse (Florida State) (who reiterates his commitment to his mistake about the demarcation problem, for which Professor McMullin rightly took him to task!).
ANOTHER: Notre Dame's memorial notice.
AND ANOTHER: A memorial from the National Center for Science Education.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: A memorial mass for Ernan McMullin will be held at 5:15 PM on Thursday, March 3 in Ryan Hall Chapel on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. A reception will follow immediately in the atrium of the Eck Visitors Center.
