NYU's Waldron to Take Up Chichele Chair at Oxford on Half-Time Basis

Jeremy Waldron (political and legal philosophy) at New York University School of Law will take up the Chichele Professorship in Social and Political Theory at Oxford University on a half-time basis beginning in the 2010-11 academic year.  He will teach in the fall at NYU and in the spring at Oxford for the first two or three years.  There remains the possibility going forward that he may make a full-time commitment to Oxford.

Waldron will be the 6th holder of the Chichele Professorship in Social and Political Theory; the first five were G.D.H. Cole, Isaiah Berlin, John Plamenatz, Charles Taylor, and G.A. Cohen.
