A few years ago, Bush gave the following memorable response during a live national telecast to a question concerning what his biggest mistake had been and what lessons he had learned from it (the full address to the nation can be found here):
I wish you would have given me this written question ahead of time so I could have planned for it. I don't want to sound like I have made no mistakes, I am confident I have. I am sure something will pop into my head. You have put me on the spot here...and maybe I am not as quick on my feet as I should be in coming up with one.
Presumably, the White House had yet to employ Stuart Baker at the time. You see, Baker--who gets paid $106,641 for providing his invaluable services to the president--is the Director of Lessons Learned for the White House! No, I am not making this up. See here for details.
In the event that Baker reads this blog--as surely any responsible Director of Lessons Learned would--perhaps he should check here, here, and here for some help coming up with a few of the lessons Bush has seemingly yet to learn. If nothing else, he has presumably learned that even when our pet goats do things that make our daddy's angry, we should nevertheless defend them since they may one day go on to do something brave and heroic (see here for details).
UPDATE: This is one of the posts from yesterday that was temporarily lost.
