The war-monger in-chief is quoted as follows:
President Bush said on Israeli television he could consider using force as a last resort to press Iran to give up its nuclear programme.
"All options are on the table," Bush, speaking at his ranch in Crawford, Texas, said in the interview broadcast on Saturday.
Asked if that included the use of force, Bush replied: "As I say, all options are on the table. The use of force is the last option for any president and you know, we've used force in the recent past to secure our country."
Quite apart from the bald-faced lies in the last paragraph ("force is the last option for any president" and "we've used force in the recent past to secure [sic] our country"), these remarks suggest horrible scenarios we have discussed in the past (here, here, here, here, here, here, and here, by way of example). That these indicators should have been surfacing in the media for nearly a year now is extremely worrisome. There is not, of course, always a fire where there is smoke, and so one may hope...
UPDATE: Will this report from the U.N. slow the new rush to war? As we know from recent, bitter experience, facts do not matter for Bush and his bestiary of madmen.
