The philosopher of biology, medicine and psychiatry Kenneth F. Schaffner (who holds both an M.D. and a Ph.D.), who is currently University Professor of Medical Humanities and Professor of Philosophy at George Washington University, has accepted a senior offer from the Department of History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Pittsburgh, where he had taught for many years prior to moving to GW in 1991. At Pittsburgh, he will be University Professor, effective January 2006.
