In addition to the offer to Shaun Nichols, the Department of Philosophy at the University of Arizona has also made an offer to distinguished political philosopher Gerald Gaus at Tulane University. If Gaus moves, this will not only bolster Arizona's status as one of the top programs in political philosophy in the country, it will also make Arizona (with Gaus and David Schmidtz) unquestionably the leading program in the country for students especially interested in the "classical liberal" traditions in political theory.
