Jerry Kang (Cyberlaw, communication law, Critical Race Theory) at the University of California, Los Angeles has turned down offers from Georgetown University and the University of Miami.
Kimberly Yuracko (antidiscrimination law, family law, feminist legal theory) at Northwestern University has turned down an offer from the University of Pennsylvania. As noted previously, Northwestern has fared poorly in the market for senior faculty in recent years, but has been quite competitive in the junior market (Yuracko was hired at the junior level in 2002), and so retaining these faculty when other schools come calling bodes well.
