I moved this blog to its current location on October 31. At its old location, the blog had received about 625,000 hits from August 3, 2003 through October 31, 2004. At the time I moved, it was averaging about 2,000 hits per day, more on the weekdays, less on the weekends (see here)
Typepad, which is what this new site is on, provides its own stats for users (unfortunately, they aren't public--or at least I can't figure out how to make them public); here they are from earlier today:
Total number of hits: | 35016 |
Average per day: | 2501.14 |
Today: | 8756 |
In the last hour: | 266 |
This week: | 24825 |
The jump in hits for today (8,756!) and the daily average (and remember this includes a nearly five-day absence!) are suspiciously high. It is true that the posting of PGR data probably did increase the number of visits. But still...
Does anyone know whether Typepad counts visits differently than Webstat, which is what I used to use? I've opened comments, for anyone who has insight.
Thanks.
