New Fellows of the British Academy

Philosophers elected are R.A. Duff (Stirling), Peter Simons (Leeds), and, as a Corresponding Fellow, Sidney Shoemaker, now emeritus at Cornell. In addition, two scholars well-known to philosophers were also elected: Nicholas Jardine, in the History and Philosophy of Science program at Cambridge, and, as a Corresponding Fellow, Bob Goodin at the Australian National University.

Interesting here is the fact that neither of the two philosophers elected from Britain is at Oxbridge or any of the London colleges: quite unusual, but just.
