Mark Grady (law & economics, torts), who recently announced he was stepping down as Dean at George Mason, will return to teaching at UCLA Law School. That's a loss for George Mason, and caps a good year for UCLA, in which they hired a new Dean, Michael Schill, from NYU, as well as Neil Netanel (intellectual property) from Texas and Katherine van Wezel Stone (labor law) from Cornell, as well as several junior faculty. Grady's return is a particular boost for UCLA's relatively weak presence in law and economics. (UCLA's only loss this year appears to have been Jody Freeman [environmental and administrative law], who I hear is going to Harvard [can someone confirm?].)
UPDATE: Freeman has an offer from Harvard, and will visit some or all of next year, but hasn't accepted the offer.
