"A new survey from the Pew Center reveals that Republicans have gone off the deep end.
"Well that's not exactly what it reveals. But it does show that they have grown increasingly distrustful of the media over the past couple of years, while Democrats have grown neither more or less trusting. Could it be because the press, after three years of embarrassing groveling, finally began to question the Bush administration recently...?
"...Only 23% of Republicans trust what they read in the Wall Street Journal. A mere 12% trust that arena of wild accusations and crazy conspiracy theories known as The News Hour With Jim Lehrer. And only 23% of Republicans say they believe what they hear on C-SPAN. That's right, C-SPAN. Let me go out on a limb here: if you think C-SPAN is biased against conservatives, you need to get fitted for a tin foil hat.
"So where do these ideas come from? They come in large part from the fact that if you're a conservative - and particularly if you read, watch, and listen to conservative media - you're subjected constantly to the argument, thumping like a backbeat to any discussion of the news of the day, that the liberal media is trying to keep you from learning the truth. It comes from all of your leaders, from President Bush on down. So no wonder they believe it."
