John Caputo (20th-century Continental philosophy, esp. hermeneutics and deconstruction) at Villanova University has accepted appointment as Professor of Religion at Syracuse University, where he will also hold an appointment in the Department of Philosophy. Interestingly, the Syracuse Department now has a fairly sizable cluster of folks working in and around aspects of Continental philosophy, including Kenneth Baynes and Frederick Beiser. Even prior to this recent appointment, Syracuse deserved to be on the list of departments to consider for philosophically-minded students interested in Kant and post-Kantian German and, to a lesser extent, French philosophy.
