Jonathan Macey, perhaps the most prominent (and certainly the most cited) member of the Cornell Law School faculty, has accepted an offer from Yale Law School.
This is turning in to a big year for moves by folks in corporate law (which is a high-prestige, high-demand field in American law schools, for obvious reasons): Black is moving from Stanford to Texas; Daines from NYU to Stanford; Hansmann from NYU to Yale; and now Macey from Cornell to Yale. In addition, Columbia has made a half-time senior appointment in the area (Goshen from Hebrew U).
Finally, there is an unconfirmed report that Stanford's John Donohue--who teaches corporate law, but most of whose work is in the law & economics of employment law, criminal law, and other areas--has also accepted an offer from Yale. More on that before long....
