...government agents are pursuing law students. First at Drake, now at Texas. Interestingly, the Texas conference on Islam and sexism that attracted the eagle eye of U.S. Army Intelligence arose from a debate last summer on the listserve for the Texas student chapter of the National Lawyers Guild when I opined that all the major religions are at their core sexist, which generated a vigorous debate. The conference, organized by UT law student Sahar Aziz (a participant in the listserve debate) brought distinguished scholars to Austin to discuss the status of women within Islam. For unknown reasons, it also brought U.S. Army Intelligence. At least no subpoenas have been issued...yet.
