Berkeley's Robert Merges, who is, by everyone's estimation one of the handful of leading intellectual property law scholars in the U.S. (and is, by at least some estimations I've heard, the leading such scholar), has accepted a half-time appointment as Professor of Law at the University of California at Davis; the rest of the time he will be at Boalt Hall School of Law at Berkeley. (Apparently, the way the terms run, he may actually be slightly more than half-time at Davis as it works out; but he will be a Professor, in any case, at both places.) Quite a coup for Davis.
