I appear to have started something (other than the PGR). My little post on "the Political Compass" test, on 10/29 (picking up on Bainbridge's neglected 10/25 post), and the suggestion that all bloggers should take it, led Professor Bainbridge to reply, which appears to have then led the omnipotent Larry Solum to post the results for me, Bainbridge, Solum himself, and one other (whose name I'm now forgetting)...and which then led to more than a dozen other bloggers posting their Political Compass results, which Solum now records here. I'm sure the numbers will go up.
The results, alas, are depressing, and confirm how utterly right-wing the law parts of the blogosphere are (and these results don't even include the right-wing kooks--I say this only with the greatest affection--at The Right Coast or the Volokh Conspiracy). Needless to say, even though I post almost nothing of a political nature, it turns out I'm further to the Left than any of these folks, and, interestingly, far more libertarian. Of course, this is consistent with the fact that I'm also the most intelligent by all objective measures. (Note to Steve Bainbridge: I'm kidding.)
I'm sure if more of the blogosphere philosophers, like Bertram, Weatherson, Holbo weigh in, things will tilt more to the civilized left.
On a different note: if David Bernstein posts any more frequently at the Volokh Conspiracy, the name will have to be changed.
