Our last "hot topics" post was about philosophy of mind, but I know many readers would also appreciate some comments on areas of study in the history of philosophy. In the 1950s and 1960s, Owen and Vlastos brought Plato and Aristotle into philosphical dialogue with post-War Anglophone philosophy. In the 1970s and after, there was a flurry of work on the Stoics, the ancient skeptics, and other lesser-known (at least then) figures. What about today? What topics, figures or approaches are especially important? Signed comments with substantive explanations and references will, of course, be preferred.
